  • The grapes were harvest early in the morning of October 19th, 2023 and pressed slowly using a pneumatic bladder press . Fermentation began spontaneously and lasted about 11 days. The wine aged on fermentation lees for about 9 months, and then very carefully racked off of fermentation lees. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered.

A small amount of sediment at the bottom of the bottle is normal and does not affect wine quality.

  • La Quinta Norte Vineyard is an old-vine vineyard located on Foxen Canyon Road just north of the town of Los Olivos. The vines were planted in the late 1970's on very sandy soils, giving the roots plently of time to chase water down to extraordinary depths. Between the vine age and the lack of water, ripening is a slow process in this vineyard. In typical vineyards, white wine varietals are often picked well before reds. With these slow ripening old-vines and a relatively moderate growing season, the La Quinta Norte Riesling was one of the last lots picked of the year!
